Wednesday 12/08/1992, Fairfield, NSW 8:10 pm - Three witnesses

Witness account: While travelling on The Horsley Drive at Fairfield with my wife and my father, we noticed a bright white ball of light the size of a baseball, it moving across the sky at an altitude of about 15 degrees above tree tops. It was moving to quick to be a plane, but to slow to be a shooting star or meteor.

I pulled the car over and viewed the light through binoculars.

My father commented that it was a plane, he changed his mind quickly as the object speed up then slowed down. It made a sharp decent and went behind a row of trees at a school.

I thought that it must have landed as the angle it came down at was to steep to pull up again. I wanted to go and search the area but my wife and my father weren't to keen on the idea, so we left.
