Saturday November, 1973, W.A 5:00 pm - Two witnesses: Betty & son Jay

Witness account: It was about 5:00 pm in the evening, my youngest son who was three years old at the time and I were on our way up to our beach-house in Lancelin W.A. He was lying down on the back seat. I always used to look to my left at this particular spot, as you can just make out the ocean.

As I looked, I became aware of an object, I immediately know to be a UFO. It was a classic shaped saucer, there was no flashing lights and no noise, it was just hovering. I wouldn't even call it "hovering", it was literally just "sitting" about 12 feet above the ground.

My immediate re-action was "thought"- Don't put your foot down on the accelerator or you will warn them that you have seen them. Don't say anything, for fear of frightening my son. At that precise moment, he decided to sit up and look out of the left window, he commented to me, "mum look there's a UFO.

I confirmed his words and told him, they wouldn't want anything to do with us as we didn't have enough brains and on we went. The whole thing probably lasted about one minute. As I took off I was looking out of the sides of my eyes, with my head straight forward when I heard this "WOOSHING", I saw the UFO take off incredibly fast and vanished towards the ocean.

Over the years my son would always talk to me about the UFO, he would ask me if I remember seeing them, I would always put a stop to it and tell him it wasn't anything to worry about. This was the end of the story until now. My son and I have memories of small beings coming towards our car, but we don't remember anything else.
