Tuesday 17/11/1992, Toongabbie, NSW 9:00 pm - Many witnesses

Investigators report: Many people around Sydney's western suburbs reported a number of lights travelling from North-East to West. The lights were very high up in altitude, much higher than planes.

They seemed to move in formation, heading with the wind. The lights went out one by one over a period of about 25 minutes.
All media reports on the lights were that they were flares attached to garbage bags.
